By using product-video tagging, the Smart section ensures customers always see the most relevant video content, while saving you hours of setup work and reducing the chance of errors.

What is the smart section and why should you use it?

The Smart section is a powerful automation tool designed to optimize the display of shoppable videos on your e-commerce website. Instead of manually assigning videos to individual product pages, the Smart section dynamically selects and displays the most relevant videos based on product-video tagging. This feature significantly reduces the time and effort needed to manage video content across multiple product pages, while ensuring a personalized and engaging shopping experience for your customers.

If you're using basic sections, assigning a video to each product page manually can quickly become overwhelming — especially for larger catalogs.

That's where the Smart section shines. Instead of manually placing sections for every product, Smart section automatically displays the correct video based on product tags, saving you time and reducing errors.

Set up a smart section

Step 1: Upload videos

Go to your Doran app dashboard and upload the video you want to use. You may import a list of videos by follow this article

Step 2: Tag products to videos

This step is very important, you need to tag products to your videos so we can know which videos to show for your products.

Step 3: Add a smart section to your product page

Smart section will display on the product page only, and only if the product matches a tagged video.

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize

  2. In the Theme Editor, navigate to a Product Page

  3. In Template section, click Add section > Apps > Smart section

  4. Click Save

How does it work?

When a customer visits a product page, the Smart section checks if there's any video tagged to that product. If found, it automatically shows that video — no extra setup required. Let take an example.
